The Section of Endocrine Surgery, at its foundation, has strong teaching, research and clinical missions. The faculty is composed of active clinical surgeons involved in busy surgical practice who also are dedicated to pursuing clinical and health services research, as well as developing new teaching modalities in the field of endocrine surgery. The faculty has strong multidisciplinary clinical and research collaboration with the Departments of Medicine, Endocrinology, Oncology, Psychiatry, and Pathology within Yale School of Medicine. The faculty also has multi-institutional research collaborations with organizations across the country.

Our faculty serves as mentors for a number of medical students at Yale University, as well as a variety of other universities. Each research project is tailored to the students’ interest and often results in submission to peer-reviewed publications and national meetings. Additionally, our physician-researchers have been involved in the Yale University undergraduate program introducing students to medicine and surgery as career options, participating as guest speakers on campus, and introducing interested undergraduate students to life in the operating room.
