Yale Pediatric Surgery Residency

Didactic Education

Educational opportunities include weekly curricular-driven Pediatric Surgical Teaching conferences, Surgical Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, Evidenced based Journal Club, Surgical Pathology Conference, Ethics Conference, Trauma Conference, Radiology Conference, Morbidity and Mortality Conference, Gastro-intestinal Conference, and Discharge Rounds with the Pediatric staff.

The Surgical Skills and Simulation Center offers opportunities for surgeons-in-training to perfect their skills. Drs. McKee and Diefenbach have received international recognition for the development of simulated training devices for minimally-invasive surgery for even the smallest of premature babies.

Clinical Fellowship

The Pediatric Surgery Clinical Fellowship Program at Yale is a two-year ACGME approved clinical training program. The program is based at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and is administered by the Section of Pediatric Surgery within the Department of Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine.
