Clinical Interests: Intensivist General Surgeon; Shock, sepsis, resuscitation; hemodynamic monitoring; management of organ failure; sedation monitoring in the SICU.

Research Interests: Acid-based physiology in trauma resuscitation; airway pressure release ventilation for acute lung injury/ARDS; mechanisms of induction of, control measures and strategies for, resistant pathogens; hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers for acute blood loss
