The Yale Center for Children's Surgical Research (YCCSR) promotes high quality, pediatric surgical research through it's commitment to clinical research, basic laboratory science and surgical education.

Mission
The Yale Center for Children's Surgical Research (YCCSR) is an initiative created through the collective expertise of pediatric surgeons, basic scientists, research fellows, and epidemiologists to address the unique challenges of children's surgical research. We strive to improve the lives of children with surgical disorders through advancements in the laboratory, through the promotion of evidence-based clinical research, and through education to support innovative and critical thinking in Pediatric Surgery.

All YCCSR research projects are conducted by Center staff and associates and are housed within one of its three main divisions: Clinical Research, Bench Research, and Medical Education.

Divisions

Clinical Research

To improve pediatric surgical practice through the application of principles of evidence-based research.

Bench Research

To provide national surgical leadership in tissue engineering, development of neo-tissue for reconstructive surgery, drug and growth factor delivery systems.

Medical Education

To integrate best external evidence and clinical expertise into evidence-based pediatric surgical practice.
