Project Goals

To identify factors that determine length of time to oral intake in pediatric patients following surgical treatment of perforated appendicitis.

Study Design

Multi-center observational outcome study of children with perforated appendicitis. Study outcomes: time to sustained oral feeding after appendectomy. Study hypothesis: length of time to oral intake will be more highly associated with surgeon preference than with any other clinical factor.
